New short bio for Rockin' Luke Stroud

Posted by Luke Stroud on December 25, 2011 at 1:00 AM

Rockin’ Luke Stroud of Cave City is a self-taught musician, having played piano since March of 1995 after receiving a Jerry Lee Lewis cassette as a gift from his parents and pantomiming on an old piano.

In 16 years, Luke has performed with and on the same bill as many musicians such as those who helped shape the sounds of 1950’s rock ’n’ roll, including SUN-recording artist Sonny Burgess, Dale Hawkins, Carl Mann, Johhnny Cash’s original drummer W.S. Holland and Lewis’ Sun session drummer J.M. VanEaton. He has opened for Mickey Gilley, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, among others. Having also been pictured twice in an international magazine (Blue Suede News) and performed on the Louisiana Hayride stage and at the Billy Lee Riley Benefit in Newport, AR, Luke strives to bring forth the memories of a by-gone era and its music to today’s audiences with his pumping-piano sound.

Hi, just listened to one of your videos, sounds great. I came across your cite when looking at my distant Brock cousin. Think it had a question from your grandma re: the Brock family. We are decendents of Chief Red Bird. Just wondering if your a distant relative. We live in Washington state.
